What is NILs?
No Interest Loans (NILs) enables people and families with access to fair, safe and affordable credit to purchase essential goods and services to the maximum value of $2000. Loans are free from fees, charges, and interest. Pay back only what you borrow. NILs is a smart choice financial option to help you pay for essentials and get what you need right now. No Fees. What can I use a loan for?
Essential goods and services including:
Household items like appliances, whitegoods & furniture
Car repairs
Medical, dental, wellbeing and life event expenses
Technology like a computer or laptop
Technology like a phone and all other electronic devices (up to $1000 limit)
Education expenses like fees or uniforms
Employment expenses like licenses or equipment
Loans are paid directly to the supplier and cannot be used for cash, bills, rent or debts.
Am I Eligible?
You are eligible for a No Interest Loan if you:
have a Health Care Card / Pension Card
OR earn less than $70,000 (before tax) as a single
OR earn less than $100,000 (before tax) if you have a partner or dependents
OR have experienced family or domestic violence in the last 10 years
AND you have lived at your current address for a minimum of three months
AND you can show you can afford to repay the loan (Centrepay and direct deposit available)
What Documents Do I Need?

Email through the below documents to nils@shac.org.au, or you can drop them off to the office at 3 Brisbane Street, Parramatta Park.
100 points of IDs
(only physical IDs are accepted, NO digital IDs please)
At least 1 or 2 from this category (70 points for each document): Driver’s licence, passport, proof of age card, birth certificate, citizenship certificate, pension card
If the total of the document above doesn’t add up to 100 points, provide as many of the following documents to achieve 100 points (30 points for each document): Medicare card, a utility bill, ID card, rate notice, ID card, tertiary education institution photo ID
Proof of Income
Current Detailed income and asset statement OR (Income statement + Deduction statement) which you can download from myGov & the last 3 pay advice if applicable. These documents should be less than 14 days old.
Proof of Expense
The most recent 90 days of bank transactions from all the bank accounts, including saving accounts. If transfers are present in your main account, we will also require those bank transactions. These documents should be less than 14 days old.
If you are using online banking, SHAC NILs has a new service to help you obtain the bank statements to support your NIL application. Please note: Using bank scraping (Illion banking) is voluntary and you can always send your current 90 days bank statements to us directly. This free service is provided by an Australian company, and it takes less than a minute to complete. Should you wish to proceed with this, please click on the following link to start: https://scv.bankstatements.com.au/NILS-SHAC. Simply choose your bank, enter your online banking details, select your accounts and press submit. Your statements will be sent directly to us.
Proof of housing tenure
to show that you’ve lived at the current address for more than 3 months or lived at the previous address for more than 6 months: Rental Agreement/Lease OR Mortgage Statement or Rates Notice OR Statement of Rental Payments/Rental ledger OR Statutory Declaration if above is not available or if you are boarding.
Official quote of all items required
with business ABN and business bank details for payment.
Statements of any payday or rent to buy loans if applicable.
